Viddacom offers courses specifically designed for your employees. The training sessions are a mix of classroom style presentation and working exercises where the group will work individually on assignments, exercises or in sub-groups. Examples of methodologies/procedures and best practice which Viddacom has developed over time will be provided, both for discussion and to aid Clients in the production of their own documentation.
The courses are available “as is” or can customised to the company’s specific requirements. Additional programmes can be made available based upon the specifications be provided by the client.
This training course is intended to assist participants in understanding the legal requirements to ensure appropriate management measures are put in place to reduce exposure to legal liability.
Safety and Health At Work (1 day)
Awareness and understanding on safety and issues at the workplace are important for all Employees. Their roles and responsibilities in prevention of workplace injury and illness must be made known. This course will assists personnel in understanding the basic knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health and why it is important to manage safety at health at workplace.
Industrial Hygiene: An Introduction (1 day)
The one day training programme will provide basic understanding to participants on what is Industrial Hygiene, How to manage Industrial Hygiene hazard and elements of Industrial Hygiene programme.
Health Risk Assessment Awareness (1 day)
Awareness on the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) objectives and methodology. A practical guided assessment of selected locations in the clients’ facility to enable them to be aware of the tasks that a competent assessor has to undertake.
Hazard Identification and Evaluation (1 day)
The program covers various techniques that can be used for identifying and assessing hazards and risks associated with workplace activities to eliminate and minimise the risk of injury or illness.
Job Safety Analysis (1 day)
This introductory course to job safety analysis is designed to guide participants through the steps of performing a job hazard analysis. This is beneficial for clients in developing the establishment of safe work procedures.
Ergonomic Awareness(1 day)
The training provides awareness among employees on the application of ergonomics principles, the risk factors that employees are exposed to and the identification of early signs/ symptoms of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs).
Manual Handling Awareness & Assessment (1 day)
This one-day training covers the Principles of Movement, Rules for Lifting, awareness of risk assessment and the effects of bad lifting and posture. The course is intended for all personnel required to carry out manual handling assessments. Detailing requirements of assessment and all areas to be considered during assessment of manual handling operations enabling attendees to be able to identify all manual handling risks and potential avoidance/control measures.
Heat Stress Awareness (1 day)
This Heat Stress Awareness training provides an understanding of the Heat Stress hazards at workplace. Participants will learn how to recognize the early signs and symptoms of heat related illness: heat exhaustion, heat rash, heat cramps and heat stroke. Participants will also learn the specific actions for managing and controlling heat stress.
Personal Protective Equipment (1 day)
In order to ensure the proper use and care of PPE, training must be provided. Topics covered in this one-day training programme include the limitations of the different types of PPE, testing requirements and maintenance.
Radiation Protection (1 day)
This programme provides general information on radiation, types of radiation, sources of potential radiation, the effects of radiation on human tissues and how to protect employees from exposure.
Confined Space Awareness (1 day)
This course provides a basic understanding of the subject of confined spaced entry and covers the definition of confined space, general information on confined space safety and risks, how to prepare a confined space for entry and the requirements for working safely in a confined space.
The general objective of the training would be to provide awareness as to the requirements of Chemical Management at workplace. The training covers types of Chemicals Hazards, Routes of Entry, Safety Data Sheets, Labelling, Hierarchy of Controls and Principle in Spill Prevention. Exercises are designed to assess participants’ understanding of each important topic.
H2S Awareness (½ day)
Participants will be introduced to the properties of H2S gas, health hazards, detection and monitoring methods and exposure limits. Participants will also learn about how and when to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus (SABA). This course has been designed as an awareness course only.
Mercury Awareness (½ day)
This awareness course aims to provide participants with an awareness of mercury health hazards, provide basic understanding of the properties of mercury and the measures you can take to work with it safely. It will also cover the emergency response actions that should be taken in the event of mercury contamination
Chemical Spill Response (1 day)
The course is to enable clients to have better knowledge in establishing and implementing a chemical spill prevention and control plan for potentially high risk areas or activities.
Understanding Indoor Air Monitoring (1 day)
The primary objective of exposure monitoring is to determine the magnitude and significance of health hazards that have affected employees. This one-day course highlights the importance of implementing chemical exposure monitoring. Participants gain general knowledge on how to identify the exposure through a basic characterisation process, the type of chemical exposure and planning for monitoring
Hearing Conservation (1 day)
Topics covered in this one-day training programme include effects of noise, understanding the noise exposure monitoring results, types of hearing protection devices and importance of audiometric test. Practical exercises in the use and maintenance of hearing protection devices will be included as part of the training
Laboratory Safety (1 day)
This course is aimed at educating and creating awareness to all laboratory personnel on the potential hazards that can be encountered and/or anticipated while working in the Laboratory. It also highlights techniques for controlling and minimising risk of injury while performing laboratory activities.
Office Safety (1 day)
This course is aimed at educating and creating awareness to all office employees of office safety and the type of potential hazards that can be encountered and/or anticipated in the office environment. It also highlights techniques for controlling and minimising risk of injury while performing office work.
Contractor Safety (1 day)
The number of accidents which involve contractors working on site is increasing. To minimise the risk of accidents, a proper Contractor Management Program is required when dealing with the selection process and pre-qualification of contractors. It is also important to highlight the contractors’ and the organisation’s roles and responsibilities with respect to HSE issues. This training programme is designed to provide information on how to establish a Contractor Management Program.
Accident/Incident Investigation (1 day)
The aim of this one-day training session is to enable participants to understand the techniques for performing effective accident investigation. The programme covers accident causation, fundamentals of accident investigation and accident investigation process. There will also be assessment and practical investigation exercises.
